Dan Drachler

Mr. Drachler concentrates in the areas of securities, antitrust and consumer class action litigation. He is currently one of three court-appointed Class Counsel in Rodriguez v. West Publishing Corporation, C.D. Cal., Case No. 05-3222, and a lead negotiator for its $49 million settlement. He is also the lead attorney in a class action representing former and current franchisees of Century 21 Real Estate Company in Frank K. Cooper, et al. v. Cendant Corporation, et al., No. MRS-L-377-02 (Morris County, N.J.). Mr. Drachler is a co-lead attorney in a California antitrust litigation, Cipro cases I and II, Judicial Council Coordination Proceeding Nos. 4154 and 4220, Sup. Ct., San Diego Co. challenging the controversial reverse payments by brand drug manufacturers to generic drug manufacturers to keep lower priced generic drugs off the market.
Mr. Drachler has been actively involved in securities class actions, including: In re BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust Securities Litigation, W.D. Wash., No. C06-1505 MJP, and Billitteri v. Securities America, Inc., et al., N.D. Tex., Civ. No. 3:09-CV-01568-F (Provident Royalties Litigation).
Mr. Drachler’s experience extends to all phases of litigation from inception to trial and appeal.
Past Experience
- Chief Deputy Attorney General for the State of New York where he regularly counseled State agencies and the Governor's office in a variety of legal and non-legal matters.
- Partner of Koppell, Drachler & Lipofsky.
- Adjunct Professor at New York Law School, 1992-97, where he taught "Negotiation, Counseling and Interviewing," a course designed to develop skills in counseling clients and conducting negotiations in simple and complex matters.
